Is middle school fun?
A guide for incoming 7th graders
OK. Alright. Here we go. Hi! My name is Rozy and this is a regular day at school from my point of view.
As I enter the Laguna gates I immediately go the Mr. Coward's classroom until the bell rings. Once the bell rings I take a seat at my desk. Mr. Coward lets us talk until the announcements come on. "Ok, for homework we have the usual, vocab and kbar(kick back and read). During that class we do vocab practices in our note book. (If you get Mr.Coward for english you get to watch "School of Rock" videos). After first period we have break for ten minutes, and then second period. I have science with Ms. Stephens. In science we do a warm up that relates with the subject we are learning about. Then we learn more about the main topic, and sometimes we watch a video. "BILL, BILL,BILL,BILL, BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY!" Once science is over I rush to math class. Math class can be fun, but it depends on the teacher. In math we do a warm up, and then we look in the math book for class work. Don't fret the homework, it is easy and short. Just Remember to do your homework! ~After 3rd period you have a 45 minute lunch~ Then I go to 4th period. That is when I have World History with Mr. Townsend. In that class we learn about history. Yes, history. I go to 5th period right after 4th period. Its crazy right. I have P.E. that period. My teacher is Miss. Schimke. In P.E. we play different sports at different times in the year. We play football, soccer, gymnastics, softball, e.t.c. And then I end the day with 6th period which is my elective. you will chose your elective in 6th grade at the end of the year. I hope you are excited for 7th grade at Laguna Middle School !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laguna Middle School does have a big campus, but trust me, you won't get lost. At the Laguna registration, August 15, you will have a chance to find, and open your locker. You will also be able to locate your classes. If you have trouble finding your classes on the first day of school, August 21, there will be 8th graders helping you find your classes. If you are late to your classes on the first week of school your teachers will understand. Remember if you are lost ask somebody for help!
You have probably heard rumors of 8th graders giving 7th graders swirlies, stealing your lunch money, and just being mean to you. But, the reality is that as 7th graders you only see the 8th graders walking through the halls 3 times a day. The 7th graders have their own break and lunch without the 8th graders. Truth be told, when you do see the 8th graders, they don't even acknowledge you; How great is that! But seriously, don't worry about the 8th graders. If they are rude to you, if anybody is rude to you, tell a teacher.
Ok. In elementary school they have those so called "pizzas." (I have always wondered what they put in those things). At Laguna Middle school they have pizza every day, and I am talking about REAL pizza. They serve pepperoni and cheese pizza EVERY DAY, you read that right! At snack time they have cinnamon rolls and pandulce, but that is just some of the food served at snack time. You are able to get food before school, at break(recess), and at lunch! Lunch costs about $2.75, and snack costs about $1.75. If you forget your lunch you can tell the student services office and they can get you something from the salad bar. Just remember, Laguna Middle School serves actual food! |
